In the really big magnums, i.e., like the 378 and 460 Weatherby Magnums I only use Federal 215 primers. For my 7mm Remington Magnum loads, I use Federal 210M primers. I use magnum primers for 257 & 300 Weathery Magnum loads, for 300 Win. Mag. loads & 458 Lot loads but I probably wouldn't need...

Not to say I would do it, but I doubt the case would rupture. Some have shot 308 Winchester in a 30/06 chamber without a problem and ended up with a straight walled case. Once again, I'm not saying I would do it.

If I were you, I would try seating some and see if there really was a problem.

What is the reason you feel the seating stems won't work? I've used VLDs in several rifles and never had a problem with the seating stems.

Anyone have a Burris Eliminator scope and, if so, how do you like it?

I think it's a fine choice. I don't think it's a finicky cartridge to load for and my Blaser is quite accurate. If you want to go for more than coyote, it's more than enough for deer, pronghorn, black bear, etc.

I've never chronographed the load but I think fast enough.

I actually shoot a 378 Weatherby. No brake either. Not to say other powders wouldn't be as good but I doubt much better.

The powder I'd try first would be H4831SC.

By all means see for yourself, but I think if you just full length size everything the brass will fit in both rifles and you'll probably lose nothing (might even gain) in accuracy. You can still modify the ammo that doesn't fit; just run it through a body die.
