This morning while sizing some brass, I tore (broke) a #14 rcbs shell holder. The upper ring tore away without a bunch of pressure on it. Have any of you had a problem like this? The shell holder was bought new this year.
Re: What type of shelter do you use most often for backpack hunting during rifle seas
It runs small for two people but great for one with gear. I was in mild rain for a week on a late September hunt and it keep me dry.
I would love to run two equal scopes one angled and one straight side by side for a whole week of hunting. That would be my true measure. It would be cool if someone had the resources to do it and do a write up on it. I would if someone would provide the glass.
Just built a 338LMAI on a Defiance action, Mcmillian A3-5 Stock and Bartlein barrel palma contour topped with a NF NXS MOAR. The barrel has had so little fouling that when a friend took it to shoot I thought they had cleaned it before returning it. It is a fun rifle that shoots lights out.
If it has only happened once then it may have just been a bad piece of brass. If it keeps happening I would try running a different brass and checking the headspace. I ran into this issue with a Weatherby.
Took my kids to hunt goats this last year in Wyoming and we had a blast. I did learn I cant hunt at the say time as they do because they need more help then I had realized.
I went to one a little while back and unless the stock is custom built will have one on the rest. I was amazed at the difference and how it just felt more natural and comfortable.

I try to keep it light with a Big Agnes 2person fly creek. I know it is a risk running so light,so I try to use natural shelters and a small tarp as supplements. So far so good.
I love nightforce products and own a few of them (npr1)(moar). I just don't see the reason to go with the velocity for the fact that loads and rifles change.
