    SOLD/EXPIRED Custom 700 3006 McMillan

That’s a deal. A 30/06 with 180 grain partitions is hard to beat. Nice rifle for the money.

Oh my! She is back from the beauty parlor

I realized I need to clean my bench up after looking at yours. Nice looking rifle! What are all the stickie notes for. Looks like something I’d do !

1980’s Wby Vanguard 30/06 in Boyd’s Spike camp, looks good but a tick heavy

A quick back story, bought this skinny barreled Weatherby Vanguard from the old Smith’s gun shop located in Sunrise Rise Mall in Corpus Cristi Texas mid to late 80’s. I think it was called Sunrise Mall. They’ve been closed for years. Doubt you’ll find a gun shop in a shopping mall in this day...

First time for Wheeler rings, straight PTG handle/scope a little high

Been getting a 270 WSM rigged up. 700 with PTG bolt with straight handle. Mounting a 3x16 Sightron. Wanting to keep the weight down tried to use medium Talley’s. Scope is 42,44mm ish, not a big scope. StraightnPTG bolt handle wouldn’t clear the adjustment ring. Tried high’s, took them off...

Wax-in your blueing, along with your wood. Weather Protection.

I didn’t know this stuff was still around. I used to use it in the 80’s.

I’d like to restock a model 70, not as many options as 700’s and clones.

I started out looking for a stock for a SA Model 70, 7mm WSM. Just placed an order a few minutes ago for a Boyd’s Spike Camp, pepper colored for a Weatherby Vanguard I’ve had since the 80’s. I kinda got off track somewhere along the way!

I like a longer length of pull too. 14 to 14 1/2. I'm a big guy with broad shoulders, 35 inch inseam sleeves and long neck even though I'm only 6'2.

I was just the opposite. I jumped on the synthetic band wagon in the 80’s. Then about 2000 ish I started building turn of the century English Express rifles with English, Bastogne, Claro etc. I still enjoy inletting and fitting a wood stock with a good piece of wood. Dang near lost art. I...

I've got some really good input on this thread. I have a hard time making my mind up sometimes but I may buy a Boyd's. I had no idea that laser checking looked as good as it does until one of the member posted a pic. Prairie Hunter looks to be a good pattern. May buy a Boyd’s Spike Camp for...

That’s a nice looking stock, wouldn’t have thought the purple looked good but it does. The laser checkering if is nice too. I go that route for my model 70.

I might stiffen up the 50 dollar Hogue it's in and be done with it. I took the flex out of a Ramline that came on a Weatherby Vanguard I bought in the late 70's. Should be able to do the same on this hogue. With my big hands I like the feel of the Hogue stocks, but they do appear flex. The...

Couple years back I picked up a used model 70, 7mm WSM for a good price. Came with a cheap Nikon that clear as a bell. I’ll buy a freight train if the price is right lol. It came in a Tupperware Win Shadow stock, no floor plate. I picked up a Hogue and floor plate for cheap. It shot pretty...

I have a barrel and a trigger, guess I better build another rifle. Hope I don’t forget about it LOL!

Somebody had to go and mention 338 Win Mag. I need to think about getting a real stock for a 338 in have. Couple years back I bought 700 REM, SS, DBM 338 Win mag off the site, Douglas barrel. May not have ever been shot, was chambered to deep, closed on no go. I know what I was getting when...
