I think you have some wires crossed here...
you will want to use SHOOTING STYX when hunting and a SLING when target shooting offhand...
you will not be able to get a hi power scope to hold still using a sling for long distance hunting... watch the snipers.. they always use a rest...and a sling...
A 25/06 improved or banshee... With a 8x32 x 40 to 50 scope would be the ticket.
Thompson center g2 or encore - bushness elite 4200 scope... Handloads..
Lotsa dead yotes
I watched a vid on youtube about some guys shooting the 223 in some cool rifle
at 1000 yards, the guy was hitting a 18 x 18 inch target constantly... and putting
dents in it... then i watched some guy using a 17rem doing a trash can lid at 800 yards constantly... then.. some guy shooting...
Thanks very much, so it seems they are about as good as any mid range scope maker... I too think they might be just perfect atop an ar15... as long as they
hold zero and dont fall apart... sounds like you put them thru the mill going on
3 seperate guns...and still worked ok...
I Think ill give...
the reason they are so large is WHAT they eat... COSTAL SALMON AND OTHER FISH... extremely high protein diets..all year long
other browns have to scrounge and hunt mammals year round.. thats not as easy of a meal to get on a dailly basis as washed up and trapped in tidal ponds salmons and...
just curious roy.. what impressed you..
1. size of bear
or
2. someone hitting a bulldozer sized target at 250 yrds with a WINCHESTER 300 SHORT MAGNUM ...????
This is simple...
Paralex is the adj on the front of the scope, turning the lens turrent untill it focuses perfectly - but never..pay attention to the
distance marks there.. They will always be wrong..
Focus - is simply that the scope maker moved the paralex adj to the side of the scope on...
FIRST... FINE PLEX CROSSHAIRS ARE MUCH BETTER THAN DOTS.. DOTS OBSCURE THINGS...ESPECIALLY AT LONG DISTANCES WHERE MIRAGE MAY
BE SERIOUS..
CONSIDER FINE CROSS HAIR MARKS...
NEXT.. THOSE MARKS ARE ONLY GOING TO BE ACCURATE WORKED UP
ON THE LOAD YOU USE TO DETERMINE THEIR FIXED SETTINGS...
