My COAL is ~3.200" and that's 0.010" jump.

Has anyone played with RL26 yet? Would 65 grains of RL26 be an ok starting point for the 250 and 300 gr Berger's? I tested my case capacity last night and got 72 squished grains behind a 300 seated just off lands. Don't know if I'll get there in a pressure ladder, but I'll try.

Another round of shooting today. Worked on some groups with the 250 Berger's, Fed215's, and H100v. Early signs of accuracy appears to be around 68.5-68.8. Groups opened up as charge weights increased from there. Went up to 69.5. On a different note... Did a bit of testing with some 250 grain...

I thought I noticed something in my fireforming loads with the StaBall. I haven't played with that powder enough to make a good conclusion. I'll probably try 215's with the StaBall next.

Getting back to load development on this one. Burnt some Hybrid 100v and StaBall 6.5 today. Oddly enough they both pressured out for me around the same speed. Results looked like this: 250 Bergers Fed 215 primers Grains of 100v - FPS 67.0 - 2751 67.5 - 2755 68.0 - 2772 68.5 - 2804 69.0 - 2817...

I agree. Especially if your trying to fit it all in a short action. Case lengths ~2.010" bullets starting at ~1.8", all limited to a COAL~2.950". That puts half the bullet in the case. Doesn't leave much room for powder. A medium length action fits it all a little better for either cartridge.

It was a fair bit of additional free bore over Rich's reamer. I made a dummy round with a 250 grain Cutting Edge Lazer Max and sent it to my smith. Think we ended up around .120" of extra throating.
