The Maple does look good. Some have octagonal barrel which should shoot fine, but I'm still curious on your experience with that barrel should you buy it.

The cat got his eyes back on deer while he was still rolling then took off as soon as could get paws on ground! If deer had body slammed the tree (missed tree by inches) cat might have got him before they left the camera view.

I was at Sportsmans warehouse and they had AA2015 so picked up one pound to try in 45-70.

There is 270WSM Nosler brass and Winchester brass on gun broker .com right now.

Get a new 280AI and maybe have the Tikka rechambered to 270AI.

Perhaps take out barreled action and inspect the factory bedding for possible improvement opportunities? My two x-bolt are my only bolt guns that I have not bedded myself as they shoot well with factory bedding. However mine are the carbon stocks and I've not had the op0ortunity to play with...
