I am looking for a good rangefinder under $1000. I have a Leica 800 now that I am not satisfied with. I use the range finder resting on a sandbag, so I know it is not me shaking. If the target (whitetail) is over 450 I have trouble getting any readings, sometimes 400 is about all I can get...
My question is, what is the best method for supporting the action in the stock while the bedding hardens?
I am bedding a 700 long action with a glued in Shehane single shot follower. The barrel weighs 7 1/8 pounds. The stock is a Shehane Tracker II.
My usual method is to wrap tape around the...
I am a professional photographer. I use Carl Ziess lenses that cost $3500+ for 1 lens. I learned the hard way how to and how not to clean coated glass.
1. Use a strong bulb shaped blower to remove the dust etc. from the lens while holding the lens to be cleaned up side down. This can be bought...
I have a factory take-off, 26", stainless, standard contour, 300 R.U.M. barrel that has fired about 75 rounds. Along with it goes a custom Wilson hand bullet seater die that was sized by Wilson to fit this barrels chamber
What would be a fair price to ask for the die and the barrel?
Does anyone know who can boost the power on a Leupold LPS 3.5x14?
I know it can be done Harley Member # 99 had one for sale that had been boosted.
Premier does not work on LPS's and Siebert does not work on variables. Is there anyone else?
Boyd,
RL-25 seems too temperature sensitive too me. I am using H-1000 now. Since they are very close in burn rate. I will ***/u/me for 180-200g bullets You would say H-1000 would be a better choice than Retumbo?
On another board, someone said they got high extreme spreads when using Retumbo. Has any of you found that to be true also? I was thinking of trying it in .300 R.U.M. w/ 180g Sciroccos and 200g AccuBonds. I know some shooters like it with the heavier bullets. How does it work with mid-wieght...
First, is there any decent brass available for the 300 RUM or the 404 Jeffery?
I was thinking of using 404 brass so I could have thicker necks then turning the necks to have uniform necks that work well in a standard chamber. I realize I must turn the head also. I am sure some of you have...
