I shoot the .250SAI in a XP-100...awesome little cartridge! I'm getting 2700fps from 100gr SMK's...but I've also only got a 15" barrel.

I had a dandy of a deer hunting season in PA. Dropped a doe on the opener to get out of the rain. Used a SSK Contender 45-70 Gov't. No pics of that deer...the 45-70 brass made it look kinda small! With one doe tag left I wanted to reserve it for the opportunity to extend my personal best...

Just an FYI on barrel length and velocity...I'm running a APS built XP-100 w/ 17" barrel that is chambered in 7mm-270WSM. 162gr A-Max's are going 2825fps w/ 63.5gr H4831SC.

From the product description it said they were Nubuck. And yes, they are Goretex inside. Last year I used "Meltonian Suede and Nubuck Cleaner". After that I used a "Silicone Water Guard" spray. Never heard of Grangers....but I'll find some!

I see several folks mentioning the Cabela's Meindl boots. I snagged a set from the bargain cave about two years ago...and LOVE THEM!! But what are you fellas doing to care for them after the season is over or prep them for the coming year? They are made from that "nubuck" material and no one...

Was at the range before deer season touching up the zero's and drop charts for some long range guns and found a neat piece of brass. There must have been another long range shooter there...or just some nut launching big, fast bullets at close range deer. The parent case is the .340...
