    Which would you choose?

HAHA I know selling a rifle just does not sound right but I have an agreement with my wife which states that I get to buy an AR 10 but I have to sell one of my rifles. I am leaning towards keeping the T/C. It is my newest rifle and to be honest it is the better shooter. The bolt is smoother...

    Which would you choose?

I am looking to sell one of these rifles but I cannot decide which one to sell. The first is a Rem 700sps stainless, in 300 WSM with a Bushnell 3200 tactical 10x40 scope on it. The second is a T/C Dimension rifle in 7mm rem mag with a SWFA SS 10x42 side focus scope. If it were you which rifle...

winchester model 70 for remington 700?

I agree with keeping the model 70 and just buying the rem 700. If you find yourself really liking the rem 700 then you can always sell the model 70. But that model 70 sure does have a glass smooth action.

Weaver 20 moa base, Nikon Buckmasters 6-18x40

If you plan to track with that scope and not hold over then you might find some issues with inaccurate tracking but I am not sure on that particular scope. If the tracking is ok then the scope has enough elevation adjustment to get you out that far.

What system, MOA or Mil, do you use?

I have no doubt that there are people that can and do shoot that far. Broz might be one of those guys, I dont know that. I do not understand why I can not give my opinion with out back lash. I prefer the Mrad scopes over the MOA scopes and I gave my reasons why. I never said that I hated MOA...

What system, MOA or Mil, do you use?

Nobody said the moa scopes are bad I just stated that for long range shooting the mrad scopes have more capability. Also I only recommended a FFP scope if you are going to use an mrad scope that away your subtensions will always be the same. A range finder is always good to have but having the...

    Reading Mil Dots

You can do it either way. All you need to know is the size of the target. It does not matter if you measure from the top of its back to the ground or if you do it from the top of its back to the bottom of the chest. If the size estimation is correct either one would work in the formula and...

    Scope Magnification for LRH

It depends on what we consider LRH to be and on what size game. If it starts at 800 meters and on medium to large size game then I think a straight 10x will work just fine.

What system, MOA or Mil, do you use?

Mrad is better IMO. If you get an mrad scope you need to have matching turrets. Ranging your target with a mrad scope is very simple. You take the height of the target, multiply it by 1,000 and then divide it by how many mils is takes up in the reticle. For example if your target is 2 yards...

    Hunting drop charts?

Yeah it seems to work great for those guys. I will do the same once I get data out of the new rifle. I will also put the avg temp during whitetail season from 100 to about 500 yards under my flip up lens cap for a very quick reference. I do not need to worry about elevation since there will...

    Hunting drop charts?

you can fit a lot of info on one sheet. I have seen guys put bullet drop by temp from the 20's to the 100's from 100 yards to 1000 all on one sheet and laminated it.

    Have you guys watched these?

Yeah guys I have watched most of the Ballistics videos several times over. I think this guy could make himself and his shooting buddies a lot of money if he were to put these videos into or something like them into a purchasable set of DVD's or heck he could even open a shooting school and make...

Berger VLD bullets on Moose - will it work??

You are sub MOA at 250 yards with the load you have now. That round will carry more than enough energy to take down large game up to if not more than 1000 yards. I would not change a thing. The VLD's are good bullets and its all about shot placement.

Berger VLD bullets on Moose - will it work??

You will have no issues with that projectile.

    Have you guys watched these?

When I decided to purchase a long range rifle for some hunting and target shooting, I decided to do some youtube watching and came across this guy that has a 59 part sniper tutorial of sorts. I was wondering if any of you guys have seen this? I watched about 30 of them and it is actually how I...
