My neighbor was just telling me that his gunsmith just should him the last time he was there checking on his gun. The new Berger VLD for 338 witch is 330 grains. Asked him if he was talking about the hybrid 300 grain. He said nope it was a VLD 330 grain. If anybody has heard, seen, or even had...
It is my first 22-250 and third bolt rifle. I'm liking bergers 55 grn varmint and target match bullets. I don't know what powder to use. Open to suggestions.
At least he has a choose. The rem brass works fine for me right now, but it would be nice down the road some day. That I could use some nicer brass. I have only been reloading just shy of a year. So they will do me just fine for a long time. Just wanted to see if any body had found or was using...
Why is it that nobody other then Remington that makes 338 RUM brass? As for factory ammunition I only know of Federal that makes them other then rem. I don't expect any body to be able to know the answer. Just want to know what you guys have heard.
Diameter at the muzzle is .702. Here is a link to the pictures i posted on here after it was all done. http://www.longrangehunting.com/forums/f19/building-338-rum-53991/index4.html I was wrong about Tikkamike's barrel. It isn't a #7 it is a #6.
Just put a Krieger #5 SS on my 338 RUM at 26'' with a Harrell's brake. Tikkamike has a Krieger #7 fluted 338 Lapua at 26'' with a muscle brake being built. He posted some pictures on here of it. You may have already thought of this or done it. But have you had your 7mm re-crowned. If you get it...
It is finished! Thanks everybody for the help. Here are some pictures of it. Can't get photobucket to work right and make them smaller.
Started life as a Remington XCR 375 H&H. Now is a 338 RUM.
Krieger SS #5 barrel
Harrell's brake
Oversize recoil lug
Laminated Remington Stock
Talley low rings...
re: Huskemaw?
I total agree Mike. Today went pretty well. I'm new to all this so my two cents isn't even worth that. But I was there and I did look through both. The Zeiss was definitely brighter and sharper.
