im in southern Yukon and also a geezer. don't hunt moose anymore, too much work but I did kill a bear this spring. not too big but got a lot of peperoni. seems to get tougher every year now. cheers

there is no better calibre than the 300 win mag from 10 feet to 500 yards with a 180 grain bullet at 3100 fps. it just gets the job done, on anything. you pick the bullet, it doesnt matter. bang , thud. get the knives. if you can see it, you can hit it. i may be slighty biased, 35 years in yukon...
