    Maybe I don’t hate the 6.5 CM

That's a sweet set up. I really like Vortex scopes too.

    Maybe I don’t hate the 6.5 CM

With proper bullet choices it could harvest most North American game. The B.C. on the 140s is amazing and ballistics at 1000 are supposed to top the .308. The .260 Rem is right there too.

Welcome Marcus There's a lot of very good shooters here, they are always willing to help.

    SOLD/EXPIRED New Starline .223 Brass

Excellent brass, very consistent weights. Be careful and work up to max, they are heavier-- thicker walled and pressures can rise on borderline loads. Probably next to Lapua in quality imo.

    New Savage 110 mis-firing

That's part of the reason I went with rifle Basix triggers on Savage. You must pull straight back on an Accutrigger, if you pull it sideways even a bit you have to recock and try again. You might also check firing pin protrusion, it is adjustable on Savage bolts.

    Criterion barrels

I have a couple and echo all the posters on page 1, I've not read the next 5 but doubt there are too many bad shooting Criterions out there . They are a button rifled hand lapped stainless barrel for $300 +/-. They shoot as well or better than I can hold.

    Rem 700 Action source?

So true! I do think were I building just a hunting rifle (moa rifle) I would buy a Savage short action/long action depending on cartridge length. It has much to offer such as interchangeable bolt faces and floating bolt head. I am partial to the barrel nut convenience of barrel change ease...

How Much $s did you pay or would you pay for a Custom Chambering in your rifle???

As with most things there is a huge variation in price, not always in alignment with the smiths skill level. I was a finish carpenter but there is a huge difference in skill levels with those who claim this appellation. Same goes for surgeons, lawyers etc. etc. That said the last custom build I...

    1st time reloading - 7RM w/ 195 Bergers

I know components are hard to find but I'd strongly urge you to start with brass of the same headstamp. You'll be hard put to keep velocities and pressure in the same ballpark with 3 different cases. If just for hunting it may not make a difference but for load development and accuracy work you...

    Hammer performance on coyotes

Man that's an old dog!! I'm guessing 10 years give or take, depending on how much sand, gravel is in his range. He has considerable wear on all teeth and you did him a big favor sending him to the big rabbit patch. Whenever I kill an old dog I often wonder all the adversity he's endured to get...

What's faster at 100 Yards, higher or lower bullets?

That's what I would say. That's the reason they use ladders and load work ups.

    Hammer performance on coyotes

We have some pretty healthy dogs in our region but nothing like the western Coyotes with their full and heavy coats. An average Illinois Coyote will weigh around 25-35lbs. The largest I've killed in 26 years of chasing them was a 44lb. male and he was really old with considerable tooth wear, I...

    Hammer performance on coyotes

Where are you guys selling fur? The predominate buyer in the Midwest is giving a range of 0-15 dollars on put up dogs. My time is more valuable to me, if you've sold much fur you know it's all about the average and at this range it would likely be in the $5-$10 range. A $15 dollar dog at this...
