If you can swing it the 20% down is always your best bet. Sometimes the homebuilders will finance the loan and offer a better interest rate than you can get from the bank. A co-worker of mine recently purchased a home and financed through the builder/ developer and was able to get a 5% loan.
I am leaning toward purchasing the APA RTG DBM for my next build. I have a Hawkins Hunter on one of my other rifles, but I'm not a huge fan of the magazine release button. The APA seems more functional. I know both are M5 inlet, but the question is: does the stock need to be inlet differently...
I recently sent in my VX5 for repair (February I believe). I was quoted 8 weeks at that time as well. I would need to check the records to get it exact, but 6-7 week turnaround comes to mind.
I agree with other posts about the factory brakes. They greatly reduce recoil but are obscenely loud (seem to be louder than a side port brake). If you want a gunsmith to install it send it to Karl at Kampfeld customs. His brakes are very similar to a factory weatherby brake. He does excellent...
