I agree. I thought long and hard about how hard it would be to shoot a game animal at 20 yards using a 10x scope. As much as I wanted it to work I decided against it.

I found a used Savage 110 without the accutrigger. From what I understand this is basically a Stevens 200. Am I correct in this assumption? The seller wants $300 for the rifle. It has a wood stock and an unknown scope. Does this sound reasonable?

I have shot a .30-30. After about 50 rounds through it my shoulder didn't want anymore. It was a model 94 shooting 160 grain Hornady lever evolution rounds. The rifle did not have a recoil pad and I was shooting from the bench. As long as I can do better than this then I think I will be fine.
