For years, the area I used to hunt in Alaska (13A) you were allowed 3 caribou. Now you can get one with a permit. The limit on wolves is 10 PER DAY! Anyone want to guess what happened to the caribou herds?
Do any of you trust the Wolf count numbers your state reports? I sure as h#ll don't. I know for a fact that I have seen Wolves and tracks in areas of Washington State that our WDFW denies are there. Other hunters are reporting sightings almost daily on our Hunt Washington Forum, the Wolf...
I grew up in game unit 13 in Alaska. When I was in High School, we could get 3 caribou/yr. Now it is one a year by permit but the daily bag limit on wolves in 10/day. Yep, you are allowed 10 wolves every day, although I would like to meet the hunter who can limit more than 1 day!
Re: WTB Savage short action stock
Brent,
I am trying to contact you but I get "BrentM has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space."
I am interested in the stock.
Need a stock for a Savage Model 10 heavy barrel, 4.27 screw spacing. Would prefer a varmint stock but need something stiffer than the factory "flexi stock"
Thanks, It is the 4.27inch. I will do some looking and see what I can find. Any recommendations on a stock? Weapon is used mostly for varmint control and range is normally under 300 yds.
I have an older flat top Savage Model 10 tactical with a heavy barrel. In most cases, I can shoot .6 inch groups at 100 yds but sometimes the group blows wide open. The barrel is free floating but I noticed that it is quite easy to flex the stock to where it touches the barrel with just finger...
Looks good. I will print up a couple and use it for a couple of weeks and see how it fits my needs. I think it might have a couple advantages over what I am currently using. Thanks for posting. I will let you know how it goes.
I keep a log book for each weapon but I also made stickers on 2" x 4" labels that have the data. I stick them to the targets and keep the targets in a notebook.
