    DNZ scope mounts

I have them on my 4 hunting rifles. They are rock solid. I know most don't ever drop their rifles, but i'm not one of them. Never had a scope misaligned.

    15x binos

I have the Meopta Meostars. I wear glasses and the eye relief is not very good. They are great without glasses on (YMMV). Mostly just take my 11x33 Vortex spotting scope (along with 10x42 Swaros) with a tripod. The Vortex is lighter.

    260 Hunting Loads

Tikka's are all long action. They use a shorter bolt stop and different magazine for short action ammo. Very easy to change the bolt stop and use a 270 win tikka magazine for longer COALs. I load 143 ELX at 2.955 COAL using a 270 win magazine and the modified (Tikka factory long action) bolt...

    Tikka 6.5 PRC build

All my Tikka's have a 2 position safety. I put Timney Triggers on them because their two position safety allows bolt operation in the safe position, unlike the the Tikka's.

    Spotting Scope Advice

I had a Razor HD 22-48 which was really nice, but still to big and heavy. Also, in my experience, the larger magnification scopes aren't real clear at the higher end of magnification. I sold it, and bought the Razor HD 11-33. This little scope is clear from 11 to 33. It weighs less than my...

    260 Hunting Loads

My favorite load is 45.5 gr of RL 22 in my Tikka. MV is 2725 or so with very good accuracy. The pic in my signature was with the 260 right at 250 yards. Using a 143 ELDX with Lappua brass and Rem 9 1/2 primer. This deer spun around, took about 5 steps and dropped. I've taken several Texas...

    Hornady 6.5C 143 ELD-X performance issues

I began loading the 143 ELD-x for my 260 Rem in 2017. That year I killed a nice Montana Muley at 275 yards. It entered just behind the right front shoulder and passing through the heart. The deer took about 10 steps and dropped. There was quarter sized entrance wound and a much larger exit...

    Powder max on .270 Winchester

I've been working up a load for my Tikka 270 for the 145 ELD-x. I had great success with the ELD-x in my 260 Rem for the last two years. My 270 liked RL22 with a 150 Partition but not so much with the 145 ELD-x. Good velocity, but not consistent accuracy. I had some RL17 and have had much...

    260 loads?

I have a Tikka 260 Rem 22" barrel. This rifle likes 143 gr ELD-X's. 45.5 gr of RL22 with Rem 9 1/2 LR primers. Lapua brass, result in a MV of 2700. It's .5 to .7 MOA at 100 yds. The Muley in my avatar was taken with this rifle at 250 yards. Deer spun around and dropped.

New Tikka T3X Superlite - Tikka Rings w/ Lug?

Me too. I have 3 rifles with DNZ mounts. Never had any issue (even with dropping my rifles. Does anyone else trip, I mean loose their footing, while hunting?)

    Tikka Questions

I have a couple of Tikka's. My T3 Hunter is 260 Rem and I did replace the bolt stop and use a long action magazine. The load for the 143 ELDX is .04 off the lands. In my bio, you can see I like the brown and black B&C also! I've been considering another tikka in 270 WSM or 30 WSM...

    308 Win - 168 gr (A Max, SMK and ELD-M)

About 5 years ago, i bought my adult son a Ruger American Rifle in 308. We hunted whitetail in Texas for several years. That rifle loves the Hornady Whitetail 150gr factory ammo. Sub MOA at 100 yards and deadly on whitetail. Hardly worth reloading if your goals are what you posted originally...

Jim Shockey gen. 3 tripod pros verse cons

I have the short Ver 3 with the removable yoke. Also have the optics pad. I bought a ball mount for the optics pad to mount my spotting scope. Very handy to be able to carry only one stick/tripod.

    .260 Rem Hunting Bullet Recommendation

I've had great luck with the 143 ELDX out of my Tikka T3 260 Rem. With 45.5 gr of RL22 muzzle velocity is 2740. At 400 yds it is still moving 2263 fps and 1629 Ft-lbs. At 300 yrds off the bench, it is .6 MOA (repeatable) when I do my part.

    Calling 24” 6.5 Creed Guys

Just finished putting together my Howa 24" barreled varmint action. HS Prec stock. After suggested barrel break in, using Hornady factory 140 ELDM match, I was disappointed that the MV using my Magnospeed V3 averaged 2625 fps. The advertised FPS is 2710. Not surprised as most factory ammo...
