Good to hear another member found this great product. Both are great ballistic programs and you can't bet the price. Thanks

    Kestrel 5700 AB Shopping

You might take a look at Weatherflow ballistic weather meter. Does all the same functions as Kestrel. Much smaller, uses the ARC ballistic program which is free, plugs into your phone, Bluetooth, and best of all is the price. They cannot keep them on the shelves.

    Help on 300 win loads

I agree with reelhardmt. 76gr of H-1000. I shoot 220gr Lapua bullets seated out to magazine length and achieve 2980fps with SDs below 8. I tried 75gr and 75-1/2gr of H-1000 and SDs increased.

    Bullet off lands?

You got good information for your question. 2 areas to be aware of. Do not extend your bullet passed the maximum length of your magazine if you are magazine fed and do not extend your bullet passed the point that you can not eject the entire round

    Depriming live primers

From your picture it looks like you have a batch on bad brass. Just slowly punch out the primer and contact Hornady and Show them your picture

Like to talk about portable shooting tables. I am a private builder in Colorado who builds portable tables. After many years of shooting, I wanted a table that was easy to transport and set up without the need for heavy metal parts that needed to be assembled in the field. I also wanted the...

    Can primers cause vertical stringing?

Although several things can cause vertical stringing, generally vertical stringing can be caused by a hot barrel. As you shoot the barrel warms up and depending on the barrel size and caliber being shot, along with outside temperature the barrel will continue to heat up unless allowed to cool...

    Brass Conundrum

If accuracy is your main goal then it is important to use your best brass. All casings in a given lot need to be the same head stamp. New brass is the best way to start out. This brass was all produced at the same time under the same conditions. A new bag of brass should always stay together as...

    muzzle brake for 308?

    I have shot 3 different brakes from 3 different 300 win mag rifles. All were a 2-3 chambered brakes. 1) Big Maxi, 5//8 x 24, 3" long, 1 1/4" wide. 2) Big Chubby, 5/8 x 24, 4" long 1 3/4" wide. 3) Armalite V-block design, 3" long, 2" wide. The Armalite V-block had the least felt recoil. All...

    .308 + A-Max

Unless you have a magazine length restriction, the end to end length of matched weight bullet comparisons is not the best way you determine the bullets C.O.A.L ability to the lands. Along with several other factors, that is determined by the measurement taken off the ogive of a bullet. You may...

    .308 + A-Max

The 308 is inherently the most accurate rd of the 30 cal family if properly loaded. The 308 was not intended to shoot bullets above 178 gr. as one post noted, performance will drop off dramaically at longer range. Due to the length of a 200+ gr bullet, case capacity will be greatly reduced...

    Muzzle brakes

The rule of thumb. For maximun braking it comes down to size/surface area. The more surface area the better the braking action. Brakes that are properly engineered can reduce recoil to allow for a pain free day of shooting & accurate shooting. Multi chambered brakes are what you want to look...

    Bolt fluting

Those that say bolt fluting it is mostly for looks simply do not understand the purpose behind the priniple. Bolt fluting has several advanages. Less surface friction for a smooth, glass like feel during bolt operation. It will also allow for faster cycling action for a quick follow up shot...
