AMP Annealer VS No annealing Vs Torch Head Annealer Vs 2nd/3rd Shot

So, Joe and I having annealed many hundreds/thousands of cases, are not likely to be suffering from the learning curve. Also, since several of the affected cases are from the AMP group, it is even more unlikely it is something we over looked. We see failure with and with out annealing on this...

Is there a way to tighten up velocity, ES, & SD?

Full uniforming of your brass......primer pockets, flash holes, neck walls, do it all. Be sure to start with top quality brass or sorted brass. I will add I have a rifle developed with the same bullet that likes 2850fps for 3/4 moa 5 shot groups in a Savage LRH 7mm rem. After cleaning your...

So.....Like Joe says, I bought a used RCBS 10-10. I dont know if it was made in Mexico or not because it had no box, but it did say all the OHaus stuff alll over it. It is in very good condition and I spent a few hours making sure knive edges were clean and sharp and agates were clean and...

We all know all production rifles dont shoot the same, and certainly wouldnt conclude a poor shooting box rifle is on the shooter with out visible evidence of some sort. Each shooter has to discover his own technique based on his own results. Theres plenty of suggestions and guidelines to...

So with powder testing I personally think if its at all possible, one must test each powder against the others at the same velocity node because of harmonics. I know its not always possible, because of burn rates, but often times it is. So my .243 build likes H4831 at an average velocity of...

Clue us in on what load you settled on for the .243 rpr, mostly out of curiosity........if you dont mind, and how far off the lands with what bullet ??? The post you referenced and yours are so contradictory to the results we obtained from that gun that it is almost unbelievable.......R

I also changed a few things, went with some new PMA tools for turning necks and trimming cases, got all the cutters and mandrels plus expander mandrel die so I can do .308 cartridge family, creedmoors, and standard magnum cartridges. I also rigged an old sears variable speed drill motor up to a...

Load Development Ruger Precision Rifle .243

So I figure the barrel life issue has a lot to do with the velocity at which you choose to run each caliber. If you keep the 6.5 in the 2700 fps zone, sure you will see the difference between the 6mm 105gr in the 3k fps zone. Speed up the 6.5 as many do, and slow down the 6mm like some do and...

Load Development Ruger Precision Rifle .243

When you're testing rifle and load, 100 yards is paramount for no other reason than minimizing shooter influence. 300 yards and beyond is as much or more about the shooter.

    First shot hits

Yep, one thing is as important as another, like everything else mentioned, take away one thing and its too risky.......certainly add rest to the list. Actually, you can have everything else BUT a suitable rest and its likely the rest will be the final determinng factor.
