Are you using the 130 or 140 TBT? Does their BC match actual drop out to a 1000yds or so? Thanks, John

Close. It is the 270-7mm Rem Mag. It holds about 3-5 grains less powder. John

I only found a couple small fragments; nothing over a grain of rice in size. It looks like most of the bullet material still exited, even though it completely fragmented. The doe in the picture with my son dressed 173 lbs. The internal bullet path was 16 1/4 inches.

Small deer impact at 312 yards. The exit is on the right side of the photo. The sternum was split and most all of the ribs were fractured by the impact. The stomach was burst and blood shot was observed in the entire front half.

Quartering lung exit 705 yards (2330fps).

Impact at 631 yards (2400fps). Shot through the sternum from the front.

Impact at 671 yards (2350 fps) lungs.

I was able to test a few of the 170gr. Bergers on White Tail over the weekend.

Yes, my backup load was: 72grs. Retumbo, 170gr. Berger EOL, and Fed 215 primer. It yielded a ΔV/T of a little less than 0.2fps/°F. Indeed, I only completed two trials of three rounds but that was enough to satisfy me. The load is not as accurate as the R-26 load and the node is not as wide...
