I Know This Is LRH... But What Is The Shortest Distance You Have Taken A Live Target?

One Christmas we had a mouse get inside. Got him in the eye with my son’s daisy .177 pneumatic pump. Behind the sofa, him on one end, me on the other end.

    280 AI Production Rifle Recommendation

Yes, adjusted the trigger to 3 1/2lbs, as low as it will go without replacing the spring. I’d like to put in the other spring but I want to get it shooting before spending more on it.

    280 AI Production Rifle Recommendation

We tried 150 grains this afternoon. POA is the red 3/4” circle. Same thing it’s been doing with 162’s. I’m not sure what is going on. I tried federal premiums and it won’t put 5 in a 2 1/2” circle.

    280 AI Production Rifle Recommendation

Recently purchased the xbolt long range max. Stock, trigger, ease of shooting all great. However we can not make it group less than 2” with 162 hornadys and H4831. About to try 150’s and have 165 and 175 on the way. 1/8 twist. Any suggestions are appreciated, as I’m closed to ready to sell it.

What does Deer Hunting teach you?

This might be one of the best threads on here. Everything y’all have learned, so have I. Respect for the whitetail in all its greatness, is completely deserved and required from the hunter. If there is one other thing I’ve learned, deer hunting can turn best friends, brothers, spouses and...

What does Deer Hunting teach you?

I applaud you! Similar situation with my daughter, who btw, cares nothing for hunting but she loves fried back strap. Hang in there and who knows, one day he may close the deal and bag his own trophy. As one said already, sometimes it’s just luck!

    Just found this

Man, that is a nice deer. I check cameras weekly or at least every other week beginning in September. But, I have gotten into the cell camera league this season. They are great for instant notification and also help keep me out of certain areas I don’t need to be in like scrapes. Good luck...

    Burris XTR3 vs Vortex LHT

Well I guess I jumped ship completely. I bought the Athlon Ares ETR 4.5x30x56. It has pretty much everything I was wanting and $245 cheaper than the Burris. I hope it doesn't end up being a mistake.

    Burris XTR3 vs Vortex LHT

There really don’t seem to be many negative reviews on either one except concerns with a flimsy on/off switch on the vortex. Matter of preference I guess. Ford/chevy.

    Burris XTR3 vs Vortex LHT

This will go on a browning x bolt long range. I’ve not mounted a 34mm tube with 56mm objective before. Will it require extra high rings?

    Burris XTR3 vs Vortex LHT

I’d really like to know what you decide. I’m actually looking at both right now as well. The discounts on ExpertVoice have the Burris at $870 and the razor at $1199. That’s mainly why I’m leaning toward the Burris.

What rifles you guys running for varmint hunting?

To report. Rained here all night so I slept. I have never done well calling in the rain. So far overcast and breezy this morning but it’s supposed to clear later. Hopefully today and tonight the fur will fly.
