I have an old Stevens 200 that I rebarreled with a McGowan .243 1in10 barrel. It shoots the Berger 95gr classic hunters very well with either imr4350 or 7828ssc. I ultimately went with the 7828 only because it was just slightly more consistent. But you cannot go wrong with any of the 4350's
Always enjoy seeing a song dog taking a dirt nap. One of my coyote rigs is a Remington 700 in .220 Swift. I push a 50gr Nosler varmint at 3980fps & will put 5 in a dime. Needless to say it puts the yotes down with authority.
I can not vote since i do not own either one & i more than likely never will. This is just my opinion but to me the creedmoor was a solution looking for a problem. I own several .243 Win & several 6.5 Swede's & the creed does nothing that these two old timers cant. That being said run whatever...
It is hard to beat the tried & true Nosler Partition. Just because its old technology does not mean it isn't still one of the best. In my opinion it is still the gold standard in hunting bullets.
Id have to say the old 30.06. When you think about every time a manufacturer comes out with a new rifle to .06 is usually one of the first cartridges offered. Not to mention you can find 30.06 ammo in just about any country & you can find it in gas stations or other small convenience stores in...
Ive been using the Magnetospeed for the last 2+ years & the only real complaint i have with it is the strap loosening up after a few shots. Now yes there is slight POI shift but after ive done my load development i just rezero my rifle & all is good.
When i first started calling coyotes i used a Stevens 200 in .243 Win & have swapped out the barrel several times over the years. I run a Sierra 75gr Varminteer over 41.5gr of IMR 4350, That load has always worked well for me. The .243 is such a versatile cartridge, ive used for deer from time...
Unfortunately the tried & true 6.5x55 is not up there as that would be my first choice, that being said i would go with either the 6.5 SAUM or the classic .264 Win Mag.
Looking to have one chambered in 6.5-06. Going to have the guys at Hill Country build it for me on either a Model 70 or Dakota 76 action with a 24" Benchmark barrel. Not sure on the stock yet.
