I always meet the minimum square inches of orange but on private land where there are not other hunters I am more relaxed. On public land or when there are other hunters in the area, I wear more orange and proceed carefully -- a pain but much better than being the victim of an accident.

I have a had a lot more success with 77 gr. HPBT bullets than with SMKs. Not sure why but tried the SMK with high expectations and was disappointed with the results.

I use TAC for my 5.56 reloading. Mostly make 77 gr. loads. Shoot a lot of factory 55 gr. but do not have the patience to reload the 55 gr. in large volumes.

I'm tired of spilling ball powder while reloading 5.56 77 grain rounds. $100 for a Area 419 funnel set seems excessive -- Is it really that life changing?

As a point of reference, I use a 300 WM for elk hunting because a shot that is not perfect can still anchor the elk and let me have a humane kill. I would run your 308 with a good elk bullet (I use 180 gr partitions) rather than your 6.5. Either of your rifles will work well with a perfect...

Take a look at Kenetrek boots - not cheap but very comfortable. I have 400 grams of insulation in mine and the work well for high altitude mid - late season elk hunts.
