    Is the 7mm RUM dead?

7 mm RUM, Dead..no way. Here's a quote from this very forum a few years ago comparing the 7RUM against the 338 Lapua "180grn VLD @ fired at 3350fps 0ut to 1500 yards-36.00 MOA for elevation and 7.50 MOA for windage. 300grn MK fired at 2950fps out to 1500 yards-44.75 MOA for elevation and 7.75...

    Looking for ELR Scope -suggestions

I agree with most said above. The clarity of the 40x Burris is really good until you surpass 35x, but @ 30x it is truly fine at that price point. One note to point out though, my 338 Edge gutted two of these scopes and I traded of the third one Burris sent me. They do not handle heavy recoil...

    338 edge with N570

Be aware that N570 burns HOT. Usually pushes 300gr pills around 2850-2900 from 28" tube. With Good Brass!

    Problems with annealing by hand?

DITTO ON NON-QUENCHING. Let the case cool down with ambient air.

Are you shooting as much with the ammo shortage ?

I'm not to far off of my normal. I only shoot reloads as what I shoot is for ELR. I had some brass fail from the manufacturer and had to send it back, so that is what is benching me currently on one rifle.

    ELD-M vs Berger

Now, on a different note, it will really reach out there when I use "Badlands 265gr PCIBMs". But that's for a different thread....

    ELD-M vs Berger

When I started shooting ELR I started with a custom 338 Edge. That was over 4200 rounds through the same tube ago. Countless different bullets, powder, brass, primer combos. The barrel still shoots nearly hole-in-a-hole at 100yds and it shoots less than 1.0 moa at 1000, and cleans up at 2000yds...

    Lazz 7.21 (.284) Firebird 162-168gr to 1000Y

As far as "can't afford it" .. that is always a subjective term. I know Lazz's typically sell for excess of 4-5k and up but I have seen them go for FAR less. Like 1000-1200 with extras. I'm not saying they are fancy or the best kept, but they are out there. I know this from experience not...

Nightforce vs Huskemaw or something else in that price range??

Sir, I have been a life long fan of Burris Scopes UNTIL I mounted one on my Edge. I am telling you this and as many other Edge shooters as I come across so it doesn't happen to you as well. "Burris tests their scopes to 375 H&H recoil levels not 50 cal." Is what I was told by their factory...

    "Shooter" Ballistics Program gone wonkey

Just checked with my Note 5, all good. ... and I'm out in the sticks...

    ELD-M for hunting

I see what you mean. I haven't tried Re33 yet, probably won't. I don't need to send them at those speeds. I'm happy at the 3000fps mark.

    338 Edge Chamber Specs

Not bad at all.. Already have one at 785 and had a shot at one at 1430, how many people can say that? How many could even take that shot? Good for you! That's why I built mine. To be able to, to have the confidence in the shot, and know that on impact it would be able to do its intended job...

    338 Edge Chamber Specs

Edd, the question has nothing to do with my current load, it has to do with how my rifle was built compared to others. Whether or not reamers exist for 300grain/long profile bullets and what the difference is. (Compared to mine) In an effort to find a solution to bring the caliber in my gun to...

    338 Edge Chamber Specs

Don't mind at all.. I run a 30" Bartlein Straight Taper 9.5 twist, mated on very slightly modified Weatherby Vanguard Action atop a Boyds Laminated stock under a Hi-Lux Top Angle 7-30x50MOAR aided by a 20moa base. My ELR load is the Hornady 285 ELD-M pushed by 101gr of Accurate Arms MR 8700...

    338 Edge Chamber Specs

Alright Sir! So there is a difference in the neck for those 300 grainers/long profile projectiles. I knew there had to be. That explains so much of what I have been dealing with. I've been "shackled" from day 1. Having pressure problems, accuracy issues, case life. All things that should not be...
