i have the Grizzly 14'x40 gunsmith lathe. It is a good machine for gunsmith work. I own a heavy truck and trailer repair business which requires me to fabricate parts from time to time. I can tell you this machine is pretty light for the work that i have come across.

Did you have your spindle running in reverse?

make sure the bolt handle is not contacting the stock.

I am currently building a 6 mm dasher off a 600 mohawk. The 600 are shorter by approx 1/2" then a 700 short action, there is only one rear scope mount hole on the 600 as opposed to two on the 700. I have not compared them to a model 7 but think that they are about the closest in size. thanks

I have a nightforce rail and n/f rings which are well made but they still were not perfect. I lap my rings because I do not want to be causing stress on my $2000.00 scope. Also I use leupold rings which again seem pretty close but not perfect.

Good for you I am getting very close myself, just a few more things and I will be trying it.

I have a ziess 6.5 x 20 x 50 nice scope good glass decent turrets but limited in the internal adjustment (no problem for 600) I also have a 6500 bushnell again decent more magnification then the ziess but I feel the ziess is a better scope , but in the end I still bought a nightforce I do not...

I have had mine for a few years and like it also, the only problems i have had turned out to be operator error, also their customer service was good returned emails quickly.
