I have seen elk on zion while cutting firewood up on kanarraville mountain east of i-15, couple good bulls but mostly private, the road goes over the top and hooks onto the kolob road north to hyway 14 south to kolob and vigin. The elk at modena are trespassers from the nevada herds.

If I want to shoot past 300 yards, I have 7mm-300 win mag.

I use 1-9 twist, 53 v-max

my 223 with 53 v-max would work in perfect conditions, perfect conditions rarely happen if the elk know their being hunted.

The shot hit the brisket and the off side leg, the caliber was fine. One more minute of elevation and it dies right there. All of this whining from people on this site isn't supposed to be allowed. It was a very successful hunt and nobody has a right to judge someone else's choices.

It's a very hard bullet to get to expand on game.

At 50 grains of powder in once fired and full length resized Hornady brass, I had 1/8" space to the end of the case, my primer pockets measured the same as new brass, my chrono is a shooting chrony and I haven't checked for drop to verify speeds yet. At 46-47 grains the groups were 1 1/4", 48-49...

So what does quick load say is the max safe load with rl26 and hornady brass
