If you switch to a side port with hole on top type of brake you will need to cut and re-crown the barrel anyway so the new break can be indexed, so your going to be cutting off the threads and starting over so it really doesn't matter which threads you have
I shoot 140 grain accubond in my factory winchester 270WSM @3250 fps with 64.5 grains of IMR 4350 shoots 3/8" at 100 and under 1 MOA at 1000 I am not possitive but when I bought it they told me that is was a 1:12 twist
