This. Mines been in the safe for 3 years since the last time it was shot. But by golly it's there when I want it lol.

I had a friend who owned a 20mm anti-tank rifle, and while it served no real "practical" purpose, it was a boss to shoot and watch others do so. Fun, and pain, were the name of the game, and that rifle rarely came out of his gun room. But when it did.............

HUH?? The 300roy requires a slow burning powder to get a long pressure peak to get velocity. I'm running 7828 in my buddy's 300roy with 225's, but it was doing alright with rl33 also. 7828 was more stable accuracy wise so it got the nod.
As to the O.P.'s question, the slowest powder Hodgdon currently lists for the 300roy is Retumbo. That's a bit odd since I'm running slower powder that that in my kid's 300win with 200gr. eld-x bullets (running v570).
 
I use H50BMG quite a bit. Due to its larger kernel size, you need to either use a long drop tube, swirl charge in 2 portions and vibrate to finish. It would work in your Weatherby, but it won't increase velocity over Retumbo. I have a 300 Weatherby, but have not tried it in it.
For me, I use it in my custom 264WM, 7STW, 300RUM and all of my 416 Rigby Improved cases from 30, 33 & 37 cal.
I tried it in my 270 Weatherby, but it did not increase velocity over Retumbo. I will use it in my 6.5-300 Weatherby because I know it will work in that cartridge. I might even try it in the 257 Weatherby if I can figure out a load for it.

I believe H50BMG is too slow for the 300 Weatherby. I own one and found that IMR 7828, Reloder 22 and Norma MRP are perfect. The discontinued Accurate 3100 didn't match the other three for velocity, but always gave outstanding accuracy. But if you have nothing else suitable for your powder, you can use it in a 300 Weatherby, you just won't get very good velocity compared to other powders. If you have one of the 7mm mags it will work in them, especially the 28 Nosler, 7m STW and 7mm RUM.
