    Sad day in America

No need at all to be arguing over this. Best to just shut up and be sure to vote.

    Sad day in America

My first vote was for Eisenhower for his first term. Back then you had to be 21 to vote. I have never contributed to any elections other than by my vote. But today is different, there will be a check in the mail today.

Diagnosing long range errors: Bad RF?

Dont need no steenkin rangefinder. Easy as one two three. Guess the distance. Send one over there. Dial to the hit. Write it down for next time.

    H50BMG Uses

Best to find somebody who owns one first, and ask to shoot it a few times. Bo has the best idea, find somebody who uses it and trade.

    Powder shortage????

I still have a few of the empty cardboard 1 pound Hodgden powder cans with price stamps on them of not much more than a dollar a pound. I also remember well back in the late 70s stopping at a store in Butte Mt. and asking for H 570. The guy said i dont have any of that, but i will sell you a 20#...

    PA LATE SEASON BULLS

Well thats where we disagree on the Elk Frank. You no doubt know exactly where our camp is. But ill tell you anyway. From Castle Garden cross over the bridge to Mix Run Rd. Follow that road about 1.5 miles and you will come to our camp. There is a stone sign at the driveway with the name Yobuck...

    PA LATE SEASON BULLS

I would suggest taking a few days and go visit the area. A few days driving around there would give a good picture of what to expect on an actual hunt. You might be surprised at the vastness of the area and the size and steepness of many of the hills.

    Portable shooting bench recommendations

Shrapnel, with all due respect, just go try your bench on those steeper slopes, and then if your up to it, call back and tell us what you think. I already know what you will think, and so do lots of others here.

    PA LATE SEASON BULLS

Well it is a draw, so that levels the playing field at least somewhat. Ive been hunting there in the prime area since i was 16 years old. Im very soon to be 89, We have them in the yard of our camp regularly, and to date 3 have been shot there. I have never applied for a tag, and neither have...

    Portable shooting bench recommendations

That appears to be a very nice bench for what you use it for and the type of terrain you are using it on. But now just look at the terrain near by with the steeper slope and ask yourself if the same bench would work as well there. Fact is that it wouldnt, so these are the things each user has to...

    Hmmm... interesting.

Nothing new about using stainless steel for the head of the cartridge case. Years back there was a small company in as i recall NC by name of O Conner who did this. I think i have a few of them stashed somewhere. The case was cut off and threaded, and a stainless one threaded on. The idea was to...

    Portable shooting bench recommendations

Type of terrain where your hunting needs serious consideration when choosing a platform to shoot from. Note that the terrain in the photo is pretty flat, making a platform without leg adjustments more suitable. The terrain where we hunt is mountainous, and very uneven. Consider how much...

    Portable shooting bench recommendations

Actually, considering the big price difference the Ultimate tripod system is hard to beat. Using one of those, 3 of us killed 3 of a group of 4 bucks in less than 5 minits, all with the same gun, a 300 Norma weighing 18#. Distance varied from 635 to about 750 yards. That wouldnt have been...
