    7 PRC & Ramshot Magnum

    I had no problem running 162 ELD-M bullets over 3,150fps with H4831 in a 26" tube.

    7 PRC & Ramshot Magnum

That doesn't sound right. 58.5 gr would get you about 2,500fps and is below the recommended starting point for the PRC.

    7 PRC & Ramshot Magnum

I've got a 26" Bartlein on my 7PRC. 69.5gr of H1000 and a Fed215M with get just over 3,000fps with 175gr-180gr Berger or the 180 ELD-M. Both of the Bergers shoot well. The Hornady 180s just will not shoot in this particular barrel.

I couldn't disagree with you more. Biden is literally destroying this country at an unprecedented rate. Most of his "policies" revolve around identity politics. People of color, gays, trannys and illegals seem to love the guy, based on his policies. I'm a much more traditional guy with...

Just ordered some 138gr. Hammer HHT for my .308 Win

I've experimented quite a bit with various neck tension and the placement on the bullet of the neck tension. IME the outcome of these tests are rarely predictable. I have noticed that crimp can, and often does, markedly increase speed and pressure. Unlike most of the Hammer bullet shooters, I...

    220 Swift build….

The 22-243AI was one of my favorite cartridges for dropping fat PA groundhogs at long range. I used readily 243 Lapua case and simply ran them through a 22-243 FL die and was ready to go. I'm building a 22 Creed now, but I can't see how it has any advantage over an ordinary 22-243. I'm only...

If you absolutely can't vote for Biden (and I can't) there is only one option. Trump is far from perfect, but he is better than the alternatives by a long shot.

The left loads them up in buses and brings them to the poles. And ..... now they have "vote harvesters" who drop off mail ballots by the thousands.

Why is Rel 26 so great??

If you live near me (Long Island) I'd be happy to give you all of my orphaned powders. I'm still using some Enduron powders just for making "barrel fouling loads". I've got enough Alliant powder that I could foul barrels for a living. I won't miss RE26 because it's hard on barrels and sensitive...

Why is Rel 26 so great??

First it was the Enduron serious and now the Alliant line of powders. You end up with all these powders in your personal inventory that you don't even want to work up loads for because you know you can't replace the powder. Just how much of this stuff can you put in the tomatoe garden? :D

    Magic Sign to stop trespassers!

Here's a funny, but true, story along the lines of the OP. Many years ago, my buddies and I were fishing along a stream that wound its way through a dense wooded area. We were just a few hapless guys enjoying the day as we moved along the bank. All of a sudden, a naked man is standing above me...

    7mm PRC load

I've found H1000 to work well with 175-180gr bullets in my 26" Bartlein, 8 twist. Attaining 3,000fps was easy with no signs of pressure. H4831 looks good with 160-168 class bullets. I'm just shy of 3,200fps with the 162gr bullets. There may be room for growth but that really doesn't interest me...

    Headspace question

I've got to take a closer look at this when I get a chance. I suspect that there is too much expansion at the .200" line that the die isn't reducing sufficiently. I'll try lancekeyton's advice and turn the die down a tiny bit. As an aside - I have been annealing the brass every other firing...

    Headspace question

Additional info - Brass was bought new and only fired in my rifle. Dies are Redding Type S FL dies. I use the Types S FL dies for reloading for almost all of my rifles which are all. Not chambering with a "naked bolt".

    Headspace question

I'm working with a 6.5PRC with a new Bartlein carbon bbl. The Lapua brass has been fired 5x. Using the Hornady headspace guage I get 1.6425" on fired cases. Resized cases measure 1.6410", allowing for about .0015" of clearance. All the brass has been trimmed to be less than SAMMI max case...
