Ok…
I got my VX5HD back from Leupold today and immediately opened the box to see the results of their findings.
The worksheet states that no problems were found and the erectors dialed up and down correctly with 40-43 moa in all directions from optical center.
So …now I’ll remove my Burris...
Use whichever you have more brass and primers for.
I have both and use primarily LRP brass because I have more.
SRP brass can take a bit more pressure before loosening pockets due to the extra brass support there.
Besides that… with standard loads, either will work fine.
Sure looks like the classic excessive lube dent to me!
I had the exact same problem a while back with Hornady Creedmoor brass.
I was spraying the shyt out of them with one shot .
As stated before… I ended up rubbing my fingers on the lube pad and barely swipe the neck area and shoulder area...
Well, well, well!
What a surprise!
Less than 2 hours after I made my last post... I got an email from Leupold stating that my scope is on it's way back!
4 weeks to the day when they asked for 8 weeks!
Kudos to Leupold!
I'm excited to get it back and take her out to the range and get it dialed...
I took a few with 6.5-284 and 140 NBT from 350-480ish. Put the smack down on em.
Also, I gave a back up shot on a front neck/shoulder crease to help my buddy who hit his farther back with a Needmoor(😁) and couldn't get him back in the scope quick enough.
Your 7mm-08 is enough with a full case...
I agree!
I still have many Leupold scopes that have been mounted for years and do have some with the LR Duplex and B&C reticle and work great!
I don't have any quarrels with Leupold!
I've only had this one to send back and am very confident they will take care of it!
Just dial them up and down for a while... you'll see why! Returning to zero... That's where the issues have been determined!
FWIW!... I have about a dozen Lupy's that have held zero if I never moved the turret!
I have one VX6-HD and three VX-5HD's. This is the first that I have to send back...
