Just about any brass which can be used to make the 7 STW is sold out or discontinued. Peterson makes a long basic belted brass but it's hard to find also. Otherwise just stay on the hunt. :)

This is the answer that you need to pay attention to. Your load with VVN-568 is way to slow and therefore low pressure. Low pressure loads leave a ton of carbon and unburned fouling which, as you have found, is amazingly stupid to try to remove, tough stuff! :)

Sort of superfluous considering 10's of thousands of us have used this style 2-lug action design for several decades with the Lapua. A solid bottom on an ultralight action seems counter productive. Personally I would call Jim Borden and discuss this project with a real master of action...

You just answered your own question. Any of the standard length (~2.500") belted magnum cases will work depending on how much work you feel like putting in. Originally I used whatever I could get my hands on as long as the head stamp didn't come into play. Just be sure to have a good selection...
