I just spent the weekend fishing with someone who works for a major ammo company. The conversations about ammo production and supply constraints in that industry were eye opening and not very reassuring as a shooter and hunter.
Got to see a den of foxes today which I don’t see often anymore. This little guy was one of 4. I hope they make it. The coyotes are hard on them around here.
I apply for a lot of tags all over and figure I’ll draw one once in awhile. I hunt all kinds of critters. Big game, small game, waterfowl, coyotes etc.
I used to get frustrated with draws but now I just do other small game hunts when I don’t draw. I hunt what’s available and find this makes my...
We have less birds for sure. Our winters are usually a little longer with more snow so we lose birds during the winters.
Im usually hunting small pockets of birds numbering in the dozens. I’ve hunted places in SD where you push out hundreds of birds.
I wonder how many pheasants have flushed at my feet when I wasn't hunting over the years. Probably approaching hundreds.
This week alone I had 3 roosters flush at my feet while looking for morels, one while planting apple trees at the farm and one was in our garden when I went to pick...
I drew a once in a lifetime ND moose tag three years ago. Otherwise I’ve never drawn a tag statistically I shouldn’t have. I usually draw a year or two after I should draw actually.
I’ve only drawn 3 rifle buck tags in ND in the last 14 years. I have friends applying in the same unit that have...
I’ve worn out a few 1100’s over the years. I’m seeing 3” 12 gauge magnums in similar condition for around $675 - $700. So I’d say the 20 gauges would be north of that for sure. I haven’t seen a 20 gauge for sale for awhile now.
That is exceptional. Point and shoot. No need for any load development.
I shot my 22-250 AI to 930 yds this morning with 77 SMK’s. Wasn’t all that happy with groups but the wind was all over the place so need to shoot again. I need to try those 80 ELDM’s as I’ve got a 1-7.7 twist which should...
