My fly rod doesn’t get much use on the Tennessee small rivers. Very tight quarters and over hanging trees are the norm. I’m primarily an ultralight spinning reel fisherman here. However, I may have to find a good spot to break out the fly rod and a fly to match the cicada.

I have never had to put a new barrel on a Browning. I guess I don’t shoot enough or just like to try different rifles way before they go south. The 308win Xbolt I have now will probably outlast me.

I was hearing reports of huge swarms on Cicadas only a few miles away from my house, but they were not in my neck of the woods. This abruptly changed about a week ago. They are now thick in the woods around my house. They are annoyingly loud. I can no longer hear the abundance of song birds...

If you like the Browning and have someone that can put a new barrel on it, why not go that route? Sure, you can find more things to upgrade/tweak a 700 footprint action, but is this what you want to do with this rifle? There are so many ways you can go in this wonderful world of rifle shooting...

I recently bought brass and dies in 7 SAUM. I have 280AI and recently sold my 7RM. I just sold the brass and dies at a loss. I understand comments and desires to have multiple rifles with similar ballistics, but I just couldn’t justify why I was going this route after giving it more thought...

Hail that size is very dangerous. Many years ago we had a freak storm that produced hail that size. It did a great deal of damage.

I have contemplated this as well. I know and accept my limitations. There are many things that I have taken on simply for the self satisfaction and learning experience. However, I also understand there are things that are best handled by competent professionals.

I find myself protecting my stash of GM215M primers like they are precious stones. Like other items that become scarce, I believe this is irrational. I currently don’t shoot powder hog cartridges with extremely slow powders, but you never know when a great deal on a big magnum will come along...
