Diagnosing long range errors: Bad RF?

How about finding a straight stretch of highway that has the highway mileage markers at every 1/10th of a mile. If you can range from one to the next, or have a friend drop you off at one and then drive your car to the next and range your car. 1/10th of a mile is 176 yards or 528 feet.

What is the hardest big game tag that you were able draw?

Bull Elk tag in Sargent Management area in unit 4 Chama, NM. I think there were only 5 non resident bull tags for the split we hunted (partner and I applied on same app and were drawn). That was in 1998 ???

I Know This Is LRH... But What Is The Shortest Distance You Have Taken A Live Target?

Sitting in a tree blind on the Quinlan Ranch in Chama, NM when a 6 X 6 Bull walked under me. I was as close as 10 feet, but had to wait for him to walk past the blind to get a quartering away shot at about 30 feet.

    Tikka T3x…..223 or 22-250?

I like the availability of .223. Tons of ammo everywhere, but hardly any 22-250 (in my area anyway). Brass for .223 is always laying around at my range. Seems like it's everywhere, and isn't hard to stockpile tons of it at little or no cost. Military type FMJ is also readily available. Police...

    Remington Jeweled Bolts

Agree with Feenix. Jewelling makes the bolt look nice, but fluting it actually performs a useful function, making it operate much more smoothly IMHO. Might reduce the weight too for those looking for a lighter build. I think the jewelling looks better on the bolt of a wood stocked rifle, not so...

How many days do you hunt a year and what do you hunt mostly big gane wise ?

Only 5 days a year unless I kill earlier than day #5. I only elk hunt in New Mexico/Colorado (Chama area). Can't do much more on a retired LEO pension.

    There’s something about a .308 Win and 168 SMKs

I shot one of those when I was on the PD Sniper Team. It shot .308 Federal 168 GMM loads really well. .192" at 100 yards was the best 5 shot group I managed.

Muzzle device between a muzzle brake and suppressor

They absolutely will seize your funds and lock your account. Might have to list the product as "Plumbing fixtures" to sneak it by them, but I wouldn't take the chance. Again, Good Luck in your endeavor.

Muzzle device between a muzzle brake and suppressor

I think if it supresses the sound at all, it has to be classified as a suppresssor (silencer), and has to be ATF regulated (tax stamp).

Muzzle device between a muzzle brake and suppressor

Is it more designed to reduced recoil, reduce muzzle blast felt by the shooter, both or neither? What is the end result (hopefully). You have me interested.

Weatherby stock shrinkage and action screw

Could be that over time, the wood compressed, possibly from oil migrating to that area while the rifle was being stored. The oil softened the wood, and it compressed slightly. My Weatherby Mk V did the same thing, so I just removed the screw, polished the end with a Dremel until it didn't...

They do (or did at 1:00 CST) have some H4350 in 1 pounders and 8 pounders.

    No HZMat over $99

Ordering powder shouldn't take too long to get over $99. That's a great deal. Thanks for the heads-up !
