When I had a 300 RUM I used the CCI 250 with Retumbo. Worked great

I use an 11 lb tank. Gives me a little more room .

I have often read that Hornady brass wasn't very good. That certainly wasn't the case for me. I've used it in two of my rifles, custom 25/06 and Rem 700 22/250 VSF with great results and long case life. As @Calvin45 posted I would take it over Nosler any day. Some of the worst expensive garbage...

I checked into it , although not alot, and couldn't find one. I believe that @xtratoy has a good a very good method as he posted on page 7.

This is where the problem lies and being that the belted mags are headspaced off the belt it is much more pronounced with the belted cases than the rimless ones that are headspaced off the shoulder.

This works when , I believer, you cut your die to make sort of a ring die. This is also a great way of getting around the problem.

All these posts of milling the shell holder or die are great as long as they don't end up pushing your shoulder back too far. If this happens then your case life goes to hell. By using a die designed for a longer case then you don't have to worry about this. An example would be using a 300 Wea...

That's what I was getting at in my original post ( #61). It doesn't have to be a small base sizer for an STW, it can be a small base sizer for a 300 Wea, 340 Wea, 8mm Rem mag and so on. The best if you could find it would probably be a small base die for the 458 Win mag. Even standard dies in...

If I ever have a 257 again it will certainly have a 26" barrel. In fact I believe the new Vanguard's come with a 26" barrel As for a muzzle brake I don't believe one is needed on a 257. The recoil is very manageable.
