Check out IMR 4451 powder. You can usually find it for less. It is part of IMR's Enduron line up which is much more temp insensitive. The 4451 powder was made as an alternative to the IMR 4350 and supposedly has the same burn rate (although charges by weight will vary). Unfortunately...
My understanding of miracles: they are what happen to ther people while I am waiting to die.
Congrats on a great score. Maybe I should try those estate sales once again....
Let me see what I can do. She is currently clamped into my repair stand for a change of shift cable. I decided to try a different style of shifter, but didn't realize how time-consuming it would be to re-thread a shift cable back through an in-frame design. With work and other distractions...
I believe the best e-bike will vary greatly depending on the rider and his needs/expectations. Hunting or riding conditions can vary greatly depending on the type of terrain, the elevation gain & loss during an outing, the need to carry additional gear/weight, the suspension you want for your...
My dream hunt has always been to hunt a big tusker in Africa. There is just something about standing head to head with a large bull elephant with only 30-40 feet separating you to find out what you are really made of. Can you make the shot when it counts? My rifle: any good double rifle in...
Ross1147: You ought to try the Tubb Final Finish Bore Lpping System before giving up on that barrel. It would most likely smooth out that burr and get you back in the game.
My 270 Allen Mag was the most overbore rifle I have owned. The cartridge was an improved 338 Lapua case necked down in several stages to a .277. The rifle wore a slow twist, 26" barrel that shot the matrix 195 gr. bullet. I no longer have my reloading notes, but the powder charge was close to...
I built my rifle back when the round was known as the 300 Whisper. It is on an AR platform and with my 220 gr. Outlaw State bullets (always handloaded), the action is louder than the shot itself. I use an adjustable block so that I can shoot both super and sub and still cycle reliably. It was...
If you plan on going with subs, just make sure that the bullets you use are designed to open up at those lower velocities. Regular .308 cal bullets will just pencil through.
I would cut the guy some slack. No, he isn't perfect and sometimes makes mistakes. But then, so do I. I have found his opinions to be somewhat informative. I take in what I believe to be accurate and then disregard the rest. Most testing and comparative videos I see on YT are flawed at best...
